WHAT WE DO
Individual. Small Group. Specific Pilates-Centric Programs.
Pilates helps release tension and pain, reeducates movement patterns and develops a balanced body that is toned, flexible and strong. It specifically targets the abdominal muscles in every exercise, reprogramming the body to initiate all movements from a strong center. Pilates work simultaneously lengthens and strengthens your muscles, which in turn decompresses your joints and spine leading to improved health and vigor. All of these aspects are great benefits of doing Pilates and you will certainly experience these at our studio.
Our advantage lies in the unspoken benefits.
Pilates gives you an opportunity to let go of old patterns and notions to attain an abundance of possibility.
Within ourselves, we can discover an area of inner space; a new capacity. Inviting suggestions to breathe, release and expand ourselves, helped by the tactile support of a mat, springs, pulleys, straps, push bars, barrels and chairs to conjure up new sensations and to experience what once seemed undoable. Pilates offers the opportunity for balance - change occurs inside you, preparing you to face the challenges of the 21st century.
We all want a good-looking, healthy body that can handle the demands of our daily life with what Joseph Pilates called “spontaneous zest and pleasure.” This is what we offer everyone at the Pilates Fitness Studio.
"I've been working at the Pilates Fitness Studio for two years now, and in that time I've seen dramatic results. When I started, I was looking for help gaining strength and flexibility, particularly for lower back issues. My once-per-week sessions quickly became twice-per-week as I continued to see results in both functional fitness and in my Pilates practice."

"The work we focused on was based on integrating movement from head to foot, looking for queues from within the body to initiate movement, rather than focusing on the external shape I made. The biggest benefit was a personal awareness developed around the way I held tension in my body, and how to change and work with it."

“I love teaching and helping people move joyously and efficiently.”
Jeff Woodman received his initial training from the late Romana Kryzanowska, the heir to the classical tradition of Joseph Pilates, continued his study with Amy Taylor Alpers and Rachel Taylor Segel, and received his comprehensive teaching certification from the world-renowned Pilates Center of Boulder, Colorado in 1994. In 2017 Jeff was certified by Trent McEntire, creator of The Arcus Bar, to teach its syllabus of over 60 exercises. Through his study and teaching of the Pilates method of contrology over the last 20 years Jeff continues to discover the depth and beauty of the wonderful work that Joseph Pilates created for all of us. Jeff was recently featured in Pilates Style Magazine where he demonstrated his "From the Ground Up" exercise. The focus of Jeff’s teaching is to use his expertise and creativity to help clients build strength and tone muscles for renewed flexibility, function, and vitality.
"Pilates transforms people toward a larger vision that we discover our inner wisdom, our ability to self heal and reconnect with the vital forces that constitute our true nature. My intention is to help bring people into a deeper awareness of themselves and to be the authority over their body beyond what an external source is telling them."
